To mark the 5th June 2004 International Environment Day our team of teacher trainers visited a Protected Children Shelter and shared knowledge on Sea Fish with 27 kids aged 4 – 18 who were fascinated by the fun learning morning as SPES projected the fascinating Walt Disney film on the Nemo clown fish story that has beautiful designed underwater scenes. They also played with Nemo’s games on the SPES Computers and developed “mouse” dexterity!

As SPES transformed a story book on “the Happy Butterfly” created by one of the young girls it was agreed that they would visit SPES computer lab & Pottery and would take a story they decided to create on fish, as the need for healthy exercise emerged from the Nemo fish and fish friends swimming and the need to plant Papaya trees for vitamin intake.

While some kids learn to cook SPES health Papaya fruit recipe on their microwave and the one SPES had carried to the ably run Shelter by a group of volunteers and dedicated staff. Two of the SPES potters acted as animators, as Paul played the “Zaco Sky Skool” song and Maryse demonstrated pottery making on a small mobile while some kids enjoyed moulding the red Mauritian clay.

The kids sang a cute thank you farewell song to the SPES team, who were delighted to see that they had sowed the seeds of a healthy style of fun learning using our training skills newways.
